Chapter 11: Good evening, fellow citizens of Pai!

Afternoon practice at Phu Pai bar is a battle with heat and mosquito.


Richard Chamberlane, from UK. Grungy punk rock guitar player is converted to a drummer for American acoustic rock.


Ryan Tennis’s last night in Pai. Toshiro and Nathan Clark support his hour long set with Bass and Drums.



On absence of two violin players Mr. Noi and Eve, Yo with his open tune Mandolin becomes highly demanded jam session musician in Phu Pai.


‘Musician wanted’ ‘50% discount’ some hotels/ music venue aren’t swinging so well. It’s just there are so many bars here in town that have invested on equipment and need live music, and we are only so many of us musicians. To play somewhere everyday is easy. To play quality music in a quality venue takes a little bit of skills and networking.



Cha, Ryan and Toshiro play live performance at Ban Mueng Noi Catholic church.



While Cha sings un-church-like cover of Doors’ “Light My Fire”, Toshiro defies Christianity by singing “Imagine there’s no heaven… no country, no religion.”
