March 16th Lek and I get on the mini bus, head for Chiang Mai through the twisty curvy mountain road RT. 1095. Shortly after this photo is taken, this military truck comes to a halt to rescue their following vehicle flipped on the next curve.

Lek and Pook, her friend from Chiang Mai shop for school materials, art supplies, maps and sport goods for our Youth benefit project in Pai.

5 soccer balls, 5 tak-roh balls, 4 badminton sets, pens and paper, markers and crayons, maps of Thailand and the world, all for 2,397 bahts at this Zirieng book & stationery store in old quarter Chiang Mai.

Cha, another Chaing Mai friend of Lek who teaches computer programming in University, comes to help shopping for music instruments. 2 guitars, bongos, 4 flutes, guitar pitch pipe and strings for 5,000 B. Thanks Patr Music store, for the discount.

Night market display illuminates the streets of old quarter.

Thai folk pop to traditional Northern folklore, the market is filled with street performances.

Long street of night market can kill your feet. Stop for a quick massage session.

Next day at the government building. Lek goes ‘Yey!’

‘I just applied for my passport!’ More and more Thai people are starting to enjoy tourism than catering for it. Welcome Lek, Travel safe, travel clean, and travel green.

300 year old pagoda stands alone at Wat Tonkwuean.

Lek shakes Siam Sie(fortune sticks) at Wat Tonkwuean

‘Eh… it says really bad things.’
